Why I use AI Tools like ChatGPT and KoalaAI to help write blog posts
Before we get to the prompts, I want to share a bit about my own journey with ChatGPT and KoalaAI. Running a blog like Your Home Revival is no small feat, especially when you’re juggling content creation with the million other tasks that come with being a business owner. ChatGPT has been a lifesaver, helping me generate content ideas, write first drafts, and even optimize my posts for SEO. However, I always make sure to heavily edit the content to ensure it’s 100% authentic and true to my voice.
I like to think of ChatGPT as what it is – a tool. It gives me some great ideas, and an especially strong starting point with SEO. However, you need to remember it is a TOOL and you need to know how to direct and refine it to be just write.
How to craft the best ChatGPT prompts for blog writing
Here are some of my go-to ChatGPT prompts that help me create blog posts that are not only informative but also conversational and engaging:
1. Provide ChatGPT with an Outline
Before you ask ChatGPT to write a single word, it’s crucial to give it a clear outline of what you want to talk about. This helps ensure the final output is structured and hits all the key points you want to cover. Remember that you are the director, and your dictate where the blog post should go better than any robot can! Here’s a prompt I often use:
“Hey ChatGPT, I want to write a blog post about [topic]. Can you help me create an outline that includes an introduction, 3-4 main points, and a conclusion?”
By starting with an outline, you’re giving ChatGPT a roadmap to follow, which makes the final draft easier to edit and more cohesive. What’s nice about this is you can see the direction ChatGPT gives you, and you can decide whether to stick with that direction or to provide your own outline.
2. Make Sure ChatGPT Doesn’t Sound Robotic
One of the biggest challenges with AI-generated content is that it can sometimes sound, well, robotic. To avoid this, I always ask ChatGPT to write in a conversational tone. Here’s a prompt you can try:

You can even ask ChatGPT to generate a meta description that’s catchy and includes your target keyword. Here’s a prompt for that:

Finally, don’t forget about social media! After all, once you’ve created your amazing blog post, you’ll want to share it with the world. I use ChatGPT to craft social media posts that are engaging and encourage clicks:
